LUMIXA: Unlock Your Skin’s Radiance with This Breakthrough Treatment!
THE DIFFERENCE IS FLUORESCENT
Lumixa Fluorescent Light
Lumixa offers an innovative hyperpulsed light treatment developed by the Italian skin scientists at FB Dermatology which utilises a ground-breaking gel, that activates when exposed to blue OMNILUX LED Phototherapy. By harnessing Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE), Lumixa sets a new standard in skin rejuvenation.features a ground-breaking gel that’s activated by blue OMNILUX LED Phototherapy. Lumixa is a new treatment that utilises innovative technology called Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE).
When the patented gel is activated by an OMNILUX LED, it transforms into Fluorescent Light Energy – simultaneously rejuvenating the skin with the entire light spectrum; from blue to green, through to yellow and deep down to red.
Lumixa treatments are indicated for the prevention and correction of ‘Inflammageing’ and the intrinsic signs of ageing. The gels are activated with a blue LED Light with wavelengths between 415nm and 465nm which causes the gel to perform a photoconversion producing a spectrum of Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE). The standard protocol or entire course consists of 1 Lumixa treatment weekly for five weeks. Some clients may require more treatments depending on severity.
What is the science? How does it differ from LED treatments?
Lumixa offers treatments which utilise innovative technology called Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE). FLE works through photobiomodulation. While LED is a continuous type of light, FLE is a hyperpulsed light which facilitates superior cellular interaction with different receptors in the epidermis and dermis

How does Lumixa work?
Lumixa is a Fluorejuvenation treatment capable of stimulating biological processes and the skin’s regeneration mechanisms through “photobiomodulation”. It is a “skin gym” treatment that reinforces natural defence mechanisms showing positive effects on redness control, collagen production and natural glow enhancement.
Is Lumixa painful? Is it safe?
Lumixa is a safe, non-destructive and painless treatment. The gel remains on the skin surface and is not systemically absorbe and becuase it is a non-photo sensitizing, the treatment is safely performed in the summer months or before holidays.
What are the side effect and contra indications?
There are very few side effects with Lumixa. In sensitive skin, mild erythema may be observed due to the heat. Darker Fitzpatrick Skin types may experience a mild bronzing/darkening of the skin, which dissipates after the treatment course. We recommend not to use retinol (or vitamin A) during the treatment since it can produce significant sensitivities. Efficacy and safety of Lumixa have not been tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult a doctor if considering using Lumixa if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant during the treatment or are breastfeeding.
What will my skin look like straight after my treatment?
With no downtime, Lumixa allows you to go back to your daily life straight after the session and make-up can also be applied to the skin immediately afterwards.
What happens during the treatment?
- A gel containing a fluorophore with a specific energy is applied to your skin which wil feel cool.
- The gel is then activated with a blue LED Light with wavelengths between 415nm and 465 nm.
- Once activated, the gel performs a photoconversion which produces a spectrum of Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE).
How long before I see results?
Results vary depending on the treatment protocol and skin condition. Some patients see an improvement in redness after just one single session.
In most cases, significant improvements are not only noticeable, but often become particularly apparent during the last couple of weeks of a standard five-week treatment protocol. Furthermore, since Lumixa stimulates the skin’s biological processes, it continues to enhance the skin even in the weeks following the conclusion of the treatment protocol.
Who is it suitable for?
Lumixa is suitable for all skin types 1 – 6 and because it’s pain-free, it’s perfect for those more sensitive to pain and more intensive treatments. There are currently two Lumixa treatment options:
Lumixa Skin Normaliser is perfect for anyone looking to prevent and combat redness, inflammation and early signs of ageing, with a revitalising effect.
Lumixa Collagen Booster is a collagen-banking treatment to correct and improve skin density, texture, fine lines and pore size. Its ideal for patients from 35 years old.
How many treatments is best?
All Lumixa treatments start with a course of five treatments. Some clients may need more treatments depending on the severity of their skin condition.
We recommend scheduling individual ‘top up’ treatments as needed to maintain your results as part of an ongoing maintenance plan.
How much does it cost?
Lumixa is an advanced, non-aggressive treatment. All Lumixa treatments start with a Skin Journey programme of 5 treatments which costs £499. Perform treatments weekly to achieve the best results, typically noticeable after 12 weeks.
What can I expect after?
Immediately after each Lumixa treatment, you can expect to see a temporary ‘bronzing’ of the skin, which some call a ‘Hollywood glow’. In some clients, temporary darkening of freckles, sunspots, and pigmentation is possible. If any of these, including Melasma, are your primary skin concerns, Lumixa may not be the treatment for you. Discuss this and other treatment options with your therapist.
Does it hurt?
No. Lumixa is pain-free, non-invasive, and the gel doesn’t absorb into the skin. During the treatment, you may feel tingling and warmth as the gel and light work together. Don’t worry; this is entirely normal.
How long between treatments?
Lumixa offers a progressive skin therapy with a programme of 5 treatments, each spaced one week apart. Its non-invasive and non-systemic nature allows you to combine Lumixa with other treatments to further enhance and improve your results.
Pre-Care Instructions
Are you ready to get started? No problem—Lumixa requires no specific pre-care. Simply show up and enjoy the experience. However, if you’re taking acne or light-sensitive medications, using topical acne treatments, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your therapist.
In some clients, temporary darkening of freckles, sunspots, and pigmentation is possible from Lumixa. If any of these, including Melasma, are your primary skin concerns, Lumixa may not be the treatment for you. Discuss this and other treatment options with your therapist.
After care instructions
In between treatments, it is very important to use an SPF. We recommend using Heliocare SPF 30 oil-free Sunscreen for this purpose. To help your newly resurfaced skin, avoid exfoliating or using retinol or AHA products for at least seven days after your peel.
Additionally, stay away from the gym and any heat sources, like saunas or hot tubs, for 24 hours after the treatment. Remember to drink plenty of water during this time to keep your skin hydrated.
It is also essential to follow the homecare instructions given by your skin therapist. This will help maintain your skin’s health and support its regeneration.
Importantly, Lumixa does not absorb into the system and is non-photo sensitizing. It has no serious side effects, making it safe to use with most homecare products. Therefore, we suggest avoiding retinol (or vitamin A) during this time to achieve the best results.
