Change Your Nose Without Surgery

Published on November 8, 2016 by

A few months ago, I overheard one of our receptionists complimenting a patient in her 50s on her long, glossy hair.

“I’d have it cut short tomorrow,” the patient retorted. “I only keep it this length because it helps disguise my profile. When I tilt my head, my hair falls forward and covers my face.”

The receptionist enquired politely what the issue was – after all, this patient had regular skin treatments and her face could not have looked any better for her age.

“I hate my nose,” she explained. “Always have, since I was a teenager – that’s when I grew my hair long. I wish I’d had surgery to change it years ago, but now it’s too late.”

I hear that so much, because many people dislike their noses. From ‘large’ to ‘pointy’ to ‘bumpy’, I’ve heard every possible description…. Usually accompanied by, “I inherited from my mum.”

But unlike many facial features people dislike, noses are a bit different. First of all, smack bang in the middle of your face, they genuinely change your appearance.

When you are an adolescent, a large nose is also an inviting target for teasing, making people even more sensitive and unhappy. It really doesn’t help when your mum or another well-meaning relative tells you it “gives you character”……

Last but not least, until recently, there was no way to fix your nose, other than surgery, or a ‘nose job’ – which is not necessarily an easy option.

While the results of a nose job are often fantastic, there are potential complications caused by the surgery itself and a degree of pain, not to mention the downtime required because of the redness, bruising and swelling. And if you get it wrong, it’s irreversible.

Luckily, though, there’s now an alternative to such drastic action.

At Riverbanks, we use hyaluronic acid

Restylane Lyft takes only 15 minutes and can last anywhere between 6-12 months.

With just a few tiny injections, the effects are immediate – it’s like an instant nose job.

And while the results aren’t permanent, I’ve yet to meet a patient who wasn’t happy to return a good few months later for a treatment that doesn’t carry any of the disadvantages of surgery that I just mentioned.

In fact, many people who are considering rhinoplasty use these fillers as a ‘trial run’, to see how their nose will end up looking without having to risk a permanent procedure they regret.

While it isn’t suitable for people who have had previous treatments on their nose, or who have had a broken nose, Restylane Lyft is suitable for the majority of patients….. Even those who have hated their noses for decades and believe it’s too late….

Like the patient I told you about before. A few weeks after I’d given her Restylane Lyft she was back in the clinic for her regular skin treatments. Not only did her nose look great, she was also sporting a new, short hairstyle…..

So if you’d like to know more about what Restylane Lyft can do for you, hit ‘reply’ now and let’s talk. You could have your perfect nose within a matter of minutes….
