Getting rid of unsightly fat

Published on February 2, 2015 by

You may have seen dramatic TV makeovers where people have had liposuction surgery and had many kilograms of fat removed, but remember those post-operative images too where they are in lots of pain and badly bruised.  Of course, the TV cameras minimise the time it takes to recover from this kind of surgery – but it does take time and that can mean weeks rather than days, depending on the amount of fat removed and the areas that are treated.

The best way to get rid of excess fat, especially if you’re well above your ideal weight, is to educate yourself to eat more healthily and incorporate regular exercise into your routine.  This doesn’t mean you need to be in the gym for hours every day and live on rabbit food, but the simple equation is that you need to eat fewer calories than your body needs to reduce your weight.

However, when you’ve got close to your ideal weight and find that you are still carrying fat in localised areas it’s time to do something differently.  Getting rid of unsightly fat, when you’re a healthy BMI level isn’t something your GP is likely to be able to help with; it’s seen as a cosmetic issue, not a health hazard.  If it’s important to you then there is a solution (in fact, more than one) – talk to us about Vaser Lipo.

At Riverbanks Wellness we help people to get that streamlined silhouette that shows off all the effort they’ve made in getting into shape.  The first step is to come along and talk to us about what you want to achieve and you’ll find our medical team will listen to you and recommend a solution that will deliver the results you want.

Vaser Lipo delivers results that are as good as liposuction surgery, but doesn’t leave you with massive bruising, pain and waiting for incisions to heal.  There is an incision, but it’s tiny – just 4mm – and under a local anaesthetic is painless.  Because it’s so small it heals quickly and neatly, often patients have to search to find the scar six months after their treatment!

You don’t need to stay in hospital, the procedure takes only an hour or two, depending on the area being treated.  You can come in the morning and be home by lunchtime!  Of course, you’ll need to take care of yourself for a few weeks as your body heals and you’ll be given all the information about the procedure at your initial consultation so no surprises.  You can be back at work in a day or two and nobody will be the wiser, Vaser will be your little secret!

Attending a private Clinic may seem like an expensive option – but if it helps you to feel good, gives you confidence and affects your lifestyle, it’s worth it and it’s often not as expensive as people expect.

Just think what it will be like when those frustrating areas that have resisted all your best efforts have gone for good.  No more bumps and lumps, just a smooth silhouette so your clothes hang perfectly and your friends will be deeply envious of your toned and slimline figure.
