Overview
What are lip fillers?
Our lip fillers are non-permanent, hyaluronic acid-based dermal gels. The main brand we use is Restylane. They work by attracting water from surrounding tissues and acting as a kind of sponge, filling out lines and depressions in the skin in the way collagen does. This eradicates smile lines and lip creases and improves the overall shape of your mouth. The reason we have never used permanent fillers is that we are not convinced by their safety credentials. And as doctors bound by medical ethics, our primary concern is the safety and comfort of our patients.

Benefits
A subtle turning back of the clock
Our lip fillers are safe and painless, apart from a tiny pin prick when the very fine needle enters your skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers allow doctors more control over lip volume and lead to less bruising and swelling than other dermal fillers. Most importantly, the fact that hyaluronic acid is a compound that occurs naturally in the body means our fillers restore volume to your lips in an organic, non-artificial way.

FAQS
Treatment Questions
-
What is the treatment used for? add_circleOur lip fillers are used to smoothen lines and wrinkles that form around the mouth and are difficult to disguise.
-
How long do the results last? add_circleThe effects typically last 6-12 months, depending on your overall health and lifestyle.
-
Is the treatment painful? add_circleApart from a tiny pin prick when the very fine needle enters your skin, you shouldn’t feel any pain. This is thanks to the local anaesthetic pre-mixed into the fillers. In fact, the deeper the filler is placed, the more comfortable it is. Some people notice a dull ache for a few days after treatment, but this tends to happen with deeper placed fillers.
-
When will I see results? add_circleInstantly.
-
Are there any risks? add_circleDermal fillers are made up of gels and if these are injected into blood vessels, they can cause blockages. This rarely happens in skilled medical hands, and if it were to, a doctor may well be able to clear the blockage with a variety of medical techniques. This is why we believe that only doctors should provide lip filler injections.
-
Are there any side effects? add_circleThe most common side effects with dermal fillers are minimal bruising, slight tenderness and temporary redness over the injection sites. Rarer side effects include prolonged bruising, delayed swellings and, in rare cases, allergic reactions.
