What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is the best non-invasive alternative to a surgical facelift. It is the only non-invasive procedure to be FDA-cleared and CE-certified to lift and tighten skin on the neck, chin, brow and décolletage. Ultherapy transmits ultrasound waves deep beneath the skin without disrupting its surface, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. This creates a natural lifting effect that can last for more than a year.

Benefits
Feel lifted
Ultherapy supports Invisible Aesthetics, a growing cosmetic movement that favours gradual enhancements over drastic transformations. The results of an Ultherapy treatment are subtle and completely natural; you’ll still look like yourself, just a refreshed version. This innovative treatment also comes with zero bruising and zero downtime; you’ll be able to resume your normal activities straight after treatment.

Technique
Two types of ultrasound
Ultherapy uses two types of ultrasound. The first is ultrasound imaging, just like that used in maternity units. It allows your doctor to see what is immediately under the treatment area and check that they are in the right place. The second is high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) where a focused ultrasound beam bypasses the skin’s surface and delivers heat energy directly to the fibrous tissues beneath. This initiates the body’s natural response, stimulating the production of fresh new collagen and elastin.
Treatment duration depends on the area being treated and the bespoke treatment plan your doctor will create for you. A face and neck procedure can take 60-90 minutes.

Treatments Areas
Ultherapy can be used to treat:
-
Lines & wrinkles
Over time, loss of collagen and elastin causes skin to sag and lines and wrinkles—including forehead lines, marionette lines and nasolabial folds—to form where the drooping skin collects.
Over time, loss of collagen and elastin causes skin to sag and lines and wrinkles—including forehead lines, marionette lines and nasolabial folds—to form where the drooping skin collects.
The loss of collagen and elastin is a natural part of the ageing process, but an Ultherapy treatment can kick it into reverse.
By restarting the body’s production of new collagen and elastin, Ultherapy tightens, tones and lifts the skin naturally. This results in a reduction in lines and wrinkles on the face and neck and a fresh, rejuvenated appearance that is subtle, understated and in harmony with the Invisible Aesthetics concept.

Jowls
The term ‘jowls’ is often used to describe loose skin that hangs below your chin and jawline. Jowls are a natural product of ageing that usually results from loss of collagen and elastin over time.
The term ‘jowls’ is often used to describe loose skin that hangs below your chin and jawline. Jowls are a natural product of ageing that usually results from loss of collagen and elastin over time.
They cause a loss of definition in the face and can make you look permanently upset or angry.
Ultherapy transmits ultrasound waves deep beneath the skin to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin and create a natural lifting effect, reducing the appearance of sagging jowls. It does this without any disruption to the surface of the skin, and is considered the best non-invasive treatment for the improvement of jowls.

Sagging skin
Most people start to experience sagging skin between the ages of 35 and 40. It happens when skin loses its firmness and ability to snap back into place when stretched, and results from the loss of two important proteins: collagen and elastin.
Most people start to experience sagging skin between the ages of 35 and 40. It happens when skin loses its firmness and ability to snap back into place when stretched, and results from the loss of two important proteins: collagen and elastin.
As sagging skin is a natural side-effect of ageing, treating it in a natural way can be more rewarding. Ultherapy delivers heat energy directly to the fibrous tissues underneath the skin, boosting the body’s sluggish collagen and elastin production processes. This raises sagging and loose tissues and revitalises facial features, subtly de-ageing you so that you look simply like a fresher, healthier version of yourself.

Results
Nobody will know you’ve had a treatment
You may notice some initial lift, but results will really show after about 2-3 months, once the new collagen and elastin have formed. You’ll feel fresh and revitalised and no one will notice you’ve had work done. What they will notice is that you look good. The effects should last between 1 and 2 years.

Riverbanks’ Expertise
You’re in good hands
Ultherapy was specially chosen by the founder and director of Riverbanks Wellness, Dr Ravi Jain, because it is the most effective non-invasive treatment available and because of the high demand from patients for a non-invasive technique. It is compatible with Invisible Aesthetics, which was invented by Dr Jain because he believes no one should be able to guess you’ve had an aesthetic treatment, only that you look healthier than you did before.

Treatment Questions
-
What is the treatment used for? add_circleUltherapy is used to lift and tighten skin on the neck, chin, brow and décolletage. It's ideal for people who do not want a surgical procedure or anything injected into their skin.
-
How long do the results last? add_circleOver a year. Some patients report effects lasting 18 months to 2 years. Most patients will then require a subsequent treatment to maintain results.
-
Is the treatment painful? add_circleIt’s true to say that Ultherapy used to be quite a painful treatment. However, with adequate pain relief it's quite tolerable and no more uncomfortable than a few Botox injections or a hot stone massage.
-
When will I see results? add_circleSome patients will see results in as little as 14 days. For most patients, a clinically significant lift will start to show after about 3-6 months.
-
Is Ultherapy safe? add_circleExtensive research and development and clinical trials have proven that Ultherapy is a safe treatment in trained hands. In the US, it has been assessed and cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), one of the most stringent regulatory bodies for healthcare in the world. In the European Union, Ultherapy is CE-certified for non-invasive sculpting and lifting on the face, neck and chest.
-
What is the difference between Ultherapy and laser therapy? add_circleUltherapy uses ultrasound energy to bypass the skin’s surface and treat it at a much deeper level. Lasers use light energy, which can’t reach the deeper skin layers. Lasers are more effective at treating the skin’s outer layers, such as removing acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Because the two technologies are used to treat different skin issues, they’re actually very compatible.
