What is VASER liposuction?
VASER stands for ‘Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance’. It uses ultrasound waves to liquefy fat cells, making them easier to extract. The liquefied fat can then be gently suctioned out through a small needle. VASER liposuction can be used almost anywhere that fat is located (and has proven highly effective as a male breast reduction treatment).

Benefits
No need for a general anaesthetic
VASER requires only minor incisions and there’s no need for stitches or a general anaesthetic. It’s therefore much less traumatic than traditional lipo, causing less bleeding and bruising, and recovery time is over 50% faster; many people are able to return to work in as little as 2-3 days depending on the extent of the surgery and area treated.
Technique
Liquefying the fat
First you will be given a mild sedative and put into a ‘twilight state’ where you feel relaxed and sleepy. We will make a tiny incision near the area to be treated and insert a small probe. This will emit ultrasound waves to break down and liquefy fat cells. We’ll then use a small needle to gently suction out the liquefied fat. The treatment time varies between 45 mins and 2-3 hours depending on the number of areas being treated. Due to the twilight anaesthesia, it is a completely comfortable experience.

Double chins occur when fat collects in a pocket below the chin, known as the submental fat pad. Obesity is the most common cause. However, slim people also get them and in their case it’s usually hereditary or due to age-related skin changes.

Results
How will I feel?
As the operation is minimally invasive, it can take as little as 2 or 3 days before you’re back at work. You may experience some discomfort requiring painkillers for 1-3 weeks. There will also be some visible bruising which will settle within 3-4 weeks and even quicker with manual lymphatic drainage massages in the first week or two. After you have fully healed, you’ll be left with a newly toned and sculpted body shape. You’ll be able to wear more revealing and figure-hugging clothes and your confidence will soar.

What is the treatment used for? add_circleVASER is carried out on areas of the body where stubborn fat deposits collect and are difficult to remove with diet and exercise alone. Common treatment areas include the tummy, back, thighs, neck, chest and the underside of the arms. We do not treat people with a BMI over 29.

Is VASER a weight loss treatment? add_circleNo. It is important to note that VASER lipo is no substitute for exercise or a healthy diet and is not a suitable treatment if you are obese. It is also not a suitable treatment if you have a high BMI or your diet is not controlled.

How long do the results last? add_circleOnce the fat is removed, it’s gone for good. If you keep your weight stable, your new body will last you for many years. Furthermore, if you put on a couple of pounds on holiday, having undergone VASER makes it easier to lose those pounds once you get back to a healthier lifestyle.

Is the treatment painful? add_circleOnce you’ve been sedated, you shouldn’t feel any pain at all.

When will I see results? add_circleAfter approximately 8 weeks, when you're out of your compression garments you will see the results of your new body. Final results and softening of internal firmness may take 12 months. We recommend maintenance MLD massages near home.
